Default Game Needs More

Is it just me, or do you also feel that the game is pretty much just going from quest to quest. I think the game needs more things to be added. Most other mmorpg's have things like bars, and malls, and appartments. Now before you flame me: I realize these things are too modern for a game such as Guild Wars but wouldn't it be nice if each town had a tavern, where there were NPC's you could buy "Hunter's Ale" from? I think an addition that would give players more too do instead of quests, and make players feel more "into" the Guild Wars world would be nice. And the Guild Hall is only usefull for doing gvg, I have never seen Guild Members just hanging there. Maybe a private guild section that isnt there in gvg, that had a bar or something would be nice. Then I might actually end up hanging around the Guild Hall. They could even come out with something like Guild Hall "Upgrades," where you pay points earned in gvg or (something like that,) and you can purchase fun things to be in your Guild Hall. What do you people think of these ideas? and please, no flaming

I do believe this has been brought up several times in other threads. Just remember .... it is a game, not real life. I personally just enjoy playing the game and chatting with guildmates. If I want to hang out with real people and have an ale or two I can always head down to the local bar.

Game bars are for people not old enough or too lazy to go to real ones.

I disagree with the comments above. The Guild Hall is used by many guilds as a role-playing space... Just because the die-hard PvP peeps would not use it doesn't mean that others will not. I'd go there, simply to form PUGs that care more about forming parties to experience the game content a certain way and to specifically AVOID the kind of player that would never go in there... My worst PUGs were with impatient, childish "kill or be killed" nimrods that did charming things like spam profanity when the healer didn't "rez fast enough" or that griefed another player for having "less than perfect DPS" or (my favorite), who quit a group without warning when they die a single time to avoid even the smallest ammount of death penalty... Give me the kind of player that would hang out in an imaginary bar over THAT kind of player any day of the week.

PS- "Too lazy" to go to a real bar? Last I checked, recreational activities were supposed to be FUN, not work. And you PAY to go on top of that? Man, what a sucker...

I have a silly question.

If I wanted to just hang around my apartment/house...

Why would I go log onto my computer...

...in my apartment/house...

...to go hang out at my *virtual* apartment/house?

This is not an MMORPG it is CORPG meaning PVP is the end game go play it.

It's a MMORPG if you role-play in the space. Let people play liken they want to, not how you narrowly define how people "should" play.

For me, my feeling of self-worth has nothing to do with whether or not I can defeat their avatar in a PC game, and I play because I like enjoying the fantasy story that the developers have written. Doing that with other players who feel the same way is the most "fun" for me, and I'm glad that the game allows me to do so.

Simple answer: Devs should support as many kinds of players and play styles as they can, so that the maximum number of people will buy a copy and enjoy it. It's what they want to happen, trust me. Don't like role-playing, or think PvP is "the shiznit"? Also simple: don't go into the RP spaces and stick to the Arenas. Trust me- you'll not be missed.

Seriously people. Can we be rational about this?
Yes it is end game material available for PVE'ers. However, not everyone likes PVP. It may be not liking PVP at all or the current form of GW PVP.
Telling someone to play PVP is like me telling a PVP player that they should be playing PVE. Will not go over well and tend to cause more arguments.
I'm for both sides getting new content and updates, however, I don't really care for the PVP in GW that much. Not my personal play style, but I know plenty of posters enjoy PVP and want more.
New PVE content that allows those who like PVE to keep a community going or jump start the current community is needed. We are getting some of that with the new update that will be relased next week.
More PVP content is needed: increase the amount of PVP maps and add new challenges to the maps to grab new players and to keep the current PVP players happy and coming back for more.

Once the characters capped off, there isn't much to do except for hang aroundin the game and help others. I am simply putting these ideas out there because most other mmorpg's have them. A
^Agree with the post above, pvp just isn't too fun in GW, I have liked it in other games but it just isn't as great in GW. (My opinion)

Yeah, the game needs more. But in a few more days we will be getting more, so just hold on a little while longer. On a side note: MMORPG, CORPG, TRRPG, RQZXKJDFRPG...who cares what you label it as...it's a game

I'm less concerned about those lovely little things than I am about what happens to Ascalon. =(

Some tying up of the loose ends might be nice.

it's not that they want to turn GW to WoW,the thing is that some of their ideas have already been implemented in WoW or in other online games without knowing it. I have played WoW for only a few hours(honestly) and don't know much about the game. I have suggested some of the ideas for this game and some people will tell me to play WoW instead of GW or telling me that I want this game to become like WoW. The thing is that there is no more originality when it comes to game playing especially RPG games. If there is, it's just a matter of combination of ideas to make a new one.

Ya i sorta feel it lacks certain things, but Anet created da game for fast pace battles which i love a lot. But It would not hurt to hav like a bar wer ppl can meet in towns and outpost to get drunk wit half price ale.
